I'm 72 kilometers ( 45 miles) east of Los Angeles California. I work in and around the Los Angeles area in the commercial end of construction. I'm running mostly Kenwood products. 940, 440 and 480 HX, & a Kenwood 130V for QRP. I also enjoy working as a portable station. Special thanks and gratitude to my uncle SMOKEY- KN6AE, SK, for leading the way to a very cool hobby since 1994, as well my mentor and DX buddy. W6LUC. Pics of the shack. The tower is home brewed @ 35 feet. Left over 12Ga. galvinized steel from job site . Antenna is a used Cushcraft A-4s for under $ 300. USD. Home brewed J-poles for 144 MHZ and 440. In the far back ground center is my 80 meter dipole @ 50 feet, also a 40 Meter dipole at 42 feet. . And 1 of my dogs. Ellie. German Sheperd from a battered doggy shelter. She's good now.
