Click for more detail... I received this callsign on August 1st, 2008 and the info is listed on the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) website, http://www.rac.ca/callbook/ I am also VE9MHZ and have held my Certificate of Proficiency in Amateur Radio since December 1991. I moved to Morrisburg, Ontario on October 24th, 1996 and still maintain my VE9MHZ call from Saint John, New Brunswick after switching on December 8th, 1993 from VE1MHZ which I received on January 3rd, 1992. I am mostly active on the H-F SSB (sometimes AM too) 40 metre band through a 40m inverted V dipole, strung up about 30 feet (approximately 9.2 metres) AGL that is oriented for east-west signals, tuned by an MFJ-945E from a Kenwood TS-680S All-Mode H-F + 6m base/mobile. See more on my Flickr photo website, http://www.flickr.com/photos/jim-e_d/ My VHF/UHF rigs are a Yaesu FT-470 2m/70cm H-T, a Radio Shack HTX-242 2m mobile, and a Yaesu FT-8800R 2m/70cm mobile. The FT-470 is in my mobile and hooked up to a SincLabs commercial-radio 5/8-wave magnet mount adjusted to the 2 metre band. The FT-8800R is in my shack and fed through 50 feet of RG-8X in the basement going up the t-v tower to the 6-foot steel boom swung horizontally to the north which a homebrew aluminum Arrow Open-Stub J-Pole sits on top of for 2m/70cm ops and the H-F dipole hangs below that. The HTX-242 is sitting in a box under my desk since I retired it from Packet-Radio duty which it did for 10 years after my FT-411E 2m H-T died while performing continuous P-R duty from 1991 until 1997. I am on UI-View32 APRS over 144.39(s)MHz using an MFJ-1270B TNC2 Packet-Radio 1200 (& 300) Baud Modem as well as APRS-IS over 7Mbit/sec DSL Internet as VE3XID-1 which can be viewed by your web browser at http://aprs.fi/info/VE3XID-1 I am also on EchoLink.org Internet with Node #43998 as VE9MHZ. My local Packet-Radio network and Bulletin-Board-System is on 145.01(s)MHZ and 145.61(s)MHz connecting through N2TB and KA2JXI flexnet digipeaters with KA2JXI-4 f6fbb-BBS addressed as KA2JXI.#NNY.NY.USA.NOAM in Ogdensburg NY USA but it is temporarily isolated from the world's P-R network while we await repairs on interconnecting digipeaters leading to the south of Syracuse NY USA. Until then, I am using KB2FAF-4 f6fbb-BBS addressed as KB2FAF.#CNY.NY.USA.NOAM in Homer NY USA via Internet Telnet to access the world's P-R network. If that Bulletin-Board-System is not active then I can be reached at KD4YAL-1 f6fbb-BBS addressed as KD4YAL.#WCFL.FL.USA.NOAM in Clearwater FL USA. 73 for now de Jim... VE9MHZ @ KB2FAF.#CNY.NY.USA.NOAM or VE9MHZ @ KD4YAL.#WCFL.FL.USA.NOAM
