Next National Park Activation/s

October 11-17 :               4 Outback National Parks  (VK2)  are planned to be activated. This will be a 2500km return trip from

Melbourne to "Corner Country" in Outback New South Wales.  Corner Country is the meeting point

of 3 VK States: New South Wales, South Australia  and Queensland.  The area is somewhat remote

desert country and road conditions can change very quickly following rain, so it is not unusual for

road closures at very short notice.  Once the road or track has been declared "closed" it is illegal to

travel on that section, so my destinations and times may change according to the weather!

Sunday October 12:  Yanga National Park   VKFF-554

Monday October 13: Mungo National Park  VKFF-370

Tuesday October 14: Kinchega National Park VKFF-263

Wednesday October 15: Sturt National Park  VKFF-470

Thursday October 16: Sturt National Park  VKFF-470

Friday October 17: Sturt National Park  VKFF-470

I will be looking for both VK & DX Contacts to qualify these parks for VK/WWFF

I plan to use 7.144 and 14.244 for the trip however if EU QRM is difficult, I may use 14.330.

7.144 will be monitored while mobile so please feel free to give me a call to check on progress-- or

lack of----. as the case may be!

Times:  Not scheduled on this trip however I will be working VK then DX LP EU Opening.

VK may be slow as most of activation is midweek.

November 14-16 :            The annual Keith Roget Memorial National Park Award (KRMNPA) activation weekend will be

held  across this period.   As of today (Sept. 11), 24 VK3 National Parks are  registered to be

activated across the state of Victoria.   Parks will be activated on multiple bands by operators from

VK2 , VK3 & VK5.  Activations will include some of the "rarer" Parks not often activated, so this

weekend is a "must"  for all National Park Hunters.   More details will be  available from the

KRMNPA Yahoo Group   https://au.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/krmnpa/info    or this QRZ page.

November 14-16 :            Tony VK3VTH/P will be activating 4 Parks across the KRMNPAward weekend.

Coopracambra  VKFF-113                    Friday       VK & DX

                                           Alfred  VKFF-618                                   Saturday   VK Only

Lind  VKFF-287                                      Saturday   VK & DX     QRT  0630z

Errinundra    VKFF-158                         Sunday     VK  & DX    QRT 0630z

December 4 & 5:             Tony VK3VTH/2 will be activating 2 National  Parks in VK2.

                                           Mimosa Rocks  VKFF-317

                                           Bournda VKFF-050

VK3VTH is a modest Low Power (100Watt / Battery) station situated in the small village of Dereel 100km West of Melbourne at altitude 350m ASL. Antennas are located on a small property known as "HAM HILL". I enjoy Contesting and DXing. I can also often be heard operating "Portable" in one of VK3's 45 National Parks and from King Island OC-233 during the ILLW from the Currie Light House.   73!  Tony
