J.M.J. Laudetuer Jesus Christus! (Praised be Jesus Christ!) Thanks for looking me up. If we had a QSO please QSL via direct, bureau, or LoTW. I'm good in the OMISS QSL Bureau. I usually send out my distinctive QSL cards several times a month and upload to LoTW almost immediately. If you would like to schedule a QSO, please, feel free to email me at the address above. Hey, as you can see my name is James Walther. My call sign stands for (W)alther (Dixie) (C)ongregation of the (P)riest of (M)ercy. I am a Roman Catholic. I am 17 and the oldest of a family of seven children. I am home schooled. I live on a farm outside of Russellville, KY. I work for Chiles Heifer Farm in Auburn, KY. I am in the application process of becoming a Catholic Priest in the Fathers of Mercy order. I am an Eagle Scout with Silver Palm and a Life Member in the National Eagle Scout Association. I am a Brotherhood Arrowman in the Order of the Arrow. I play guitar. I own an Epiphone AJ Tabbacco Sunburst and an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top Cherry Sunburst. I am an avid shooter, hunter, and general outdoorsman. Ask me about my guns sometime on the air. I am active in the social media world. My call sign is the key to finding me, most places. I have a blog which I usually post on several times a week, except during Lent. I am learning Latin. I first got interested in Ham Radio in November of 2008, because I wanted to learn CW. I passed the Technician Class exam in March of 2009 and almost immediately changed my call to W4CPM. I bought a Yaesu VX-7R which I would recommend to anyone. I was sure that VHF would be all the radio spectrum I would ever need or want. I soon thereafter joined the Southern Kentucky Amateur Transmitting Society (S.K.A.T.S.). By chance I was the first member of the club to operate the KY4AR [(K)entuck(Y) 4 (A)mateur (R)adio] station on Field Day. I'm sure I threw several contesters out off their rhythm but I worked 11 stations that day. I completed most of the requirements for the Radio Merit Badge that day also. I had caught the HF bug. I passed the General Class exam in August. I bought a Icom 718, LDG AT-100Pro Auto Tuner, Astron RS-35M Power Supply, and a set of 40 Meter Ham Sticks and a dipole coupler, in October. I have them rigged on a pulley on a stack of three 10 foot antenna poles lashed to my siblings play set. Yes, I have worked Hawaii on a set of Ham Sticks held 33 feet in the air by orange baling twine; Ham Radio in its essence! With that set up I work between 7.170 and 7.200 MHz SSB. I have my rig interfaced to my Dell Inspiron 1501 (Windows 7) using a Donner Digital Interface. I use Ham Radio Deluxe, and EasyPal, with which I run SSTV around 7.171 MHz. In February 2010 I passed the Extra Class exam. All three test in under a year and I still can't copy the code to save my life. I am working on WAS. I leave my radio on 7.173 most days after school. I am active on 40 Meter OMISS and NATAN. My Digital SSTV site is: http://www.qsl.net/w4cpm/.
