Click for more detail... First licensed May 1935 as W9YAH in Salina, Kansas. Had many call signs including two overseas. Have worked in State Police, Broadcasting, Railroad radio and missile testing and taught electronics in High School. Am retired ship's opr /MM, having served in WW2,Korean,and Viet Nam wars. More recently was Radio Officer aboard some Oil Super Tankers on the Alaska-Panama run, and smaller tankers worldwide. Last 8 years at sea, they let me take XYL along, which was a nice treat. My ears wore out from monitoring 500Khz so had to come ashore in 1987.
