Started by building a Knight SW radio kit at the age of 12 in 1959 and it worked! I then listened to hams on 15, 20, and 40meters for a year or more. But to get anywhere back then you had to learn the morse code. Then along came cars, girls, the military, jobs, marriage, raising a family and all the other attractions that come with growing up. 46 years later I finaly decided to finish what I started and got my Tech. licsence On Dec. 16 2005. I upgraded to General on Feb 16, 2006, after mastering the Morse Code with the Code Quick 2000 sound alike program. I like DXing on HF and 6&2 meter SSB. I use a Yeasu FT 857D for 2 meters SSB thru 160 Meters. I can work all the HF bands because of my 204 ft.G5RV and my LDG pro 100 auto tuner. Now have a Steppir 3Element @ 60ft for 6m thru 20 m. I have an Icom V8000 for 2M FM base, and a Yeasu FT7800 mobile. I also am into fishing, hunting and competitive shooting, sporting clays, Highpower Rifle, and Police Pistol. I am a Correctional Captain with the Indiana Dept.of Correction at 27 years of service and hope to retire in about 1 more year. 73's
