Biography Info:

Hi,

Thanks for looking up my call. I reside here in Texas City, Texas, In Galveston County. We are right on the Texas gulf coast just a few miles from Galveston Island and a few miles south of Houston.

I will QSL direct 100% or with EQSL. On direct QSL's there is no need for an SASE, You send me a card I will send one back. This goes for DX contacts as well.

The amateur service is a lot of fun and a learning experience too. I have met some really nice people in person as well as on the bands. I have yet to talk to a person that I have not had a pleasant QSO with. One of my favorite parts of the service is being able to experiment with different things. I really like to build & try out antennas. Some work well and others not so well, but this is what makes it fun. My MFJ-259B analyzer helps me out a great deal too.

I am an active member of my local amateur radio club, Tidelands Amateur Radio Society. I served as club secretary for two years and now president.

I'm a member of the ARRL,ARES & RACES. I am a member of the GCECG,this is our emergency communications group for Galveston County,Texas. Since we live on the Gulf Coast here & have 6 months of hurricane season,We like to be prepared for that unfortunate event should it come. We are also prepared for other events requiring communications should the need arise. I am a VE Liaison here. My team & I look forward to helping those interested in the amateur service obtain their first ticket or upgrading others to a higher class license. We hold testing sessions every third Saturday @ 9:00am in Texas City. For more info go to the Tidelands site at "www.tidelands.org" Well, that's about it for the activities list.

The rig here is a Kenwood TS570S (160-6 meters).I am usually running barefoot 100 watts through a homebrew ground mount vertical.I also use a HB dipole for 40 meters. I have my tower & beam, but still have to get it up in the air. The only thing left is deciding where to put it in the yard. I do have a Hazer tram that will be used on the tower. Beats climbing it! I have several Vhf/Uhf radios for the local repeaters also.

Well, that's about it for me.If you hear me out there give me a call,if I can hear it I will certainly try to return it.

We had a really great turn out for our 2008 hamfest in Texas City! I don't think it could have gone any better. Everyone had a great time & we didn't hear anything negative, and that is what we like! After a little break we will start planning next years hamfest. I want to thank everyone that came to this years event & hope to see you all again next year plus some.

"73" From Texas!
