Traffic nets, ARES, MARS, weather spotting, hamfests, casual DX
chasing, boat anchors, antennas . . . there are so many parts of
ham radio that are interesting. Ham radio got me interested in
Red Cross service, and that has led to work on our club station
at the Red Cross, damage assessment training, AFES work, and
other ways that ham radio and the Red Cross can intersect.
Currently, I am the Missouri Section STM and the District F DEC;
have just retired (2003) from three years as hamfest chair for
the local club (CMRA). I enjoy the public service events the
club participates in. I've taught ARRL Emergency Communications
courses and serve as a VE for those courses as well as being an
examiner for our local ARRL VEC.
