Hello
My name is Rob and I have been a licenced Radio Amateur since 1986 and I am
active on HF 6m 4m 2m 70cm and 23cm and 13cm ATV. I am also interested and use
the only 2m simplex Echolink node here in Cambridgeshire MB7IGC run by a good
friend Daryl G0ANV.
I am also interested in D-Star and have a Icom IC-2820. We have a new D-Star
70cm repeater located at barkway nr Royston GB7PI about 15 miles from my
location.
I am a member of the Cambridge Repeater Group http://www.cambridgerepeaters.net
and also a member of the Camb-hams http://www.camb-hams.com
The Camb-Hams were formed in early 2006 as the social and public-facing side of
the Cambridge Repeater Group.
We meet on-air via the group’s VHF and UHF FM Voice repeaters, and at regular
monthly Pie and a Pint nights. Our contesting side, using the CRG callsign
G3PYE, aims to provide an opportunity for non-contest operators to have a go,
whilst putting a concerted effort into entering a particular contest. We have
also had trips away Six of us went for Four days to Friedrichshafen in 2007, We
are also planning a week away in early 2008 contesting to the scottish island
of Mull, we hope to be active on HF 6M 2M 70cm
As you can see from my picture I am a Train driver I have been doing this for
over 20 years now, I used to work for a computer/TV/Radio repair firm before
doing my current job.
look forward to hearing from you.
Rob
