Hello!
Please send all email to me via K0DXC@yahoo.com
For more information on me you can visit http://K0DXC.9f.com or
http://www.youngham.net/k0dxc/ ... Thank you. I would also like to give a very
big thank you to Eogan, MI6TUX for putting together and hosting
http://www.youngham.net/k0dxc/ . http://www.youngham.net/k0dxc/ is basically
the same website as K0DXC.9f.com except youngham doesn't have all the pop ups
that K0DXC.9f.com has. I built K0DXC.9f.com all on my own and then when Eoghan,
MI6TUX saw my website he offered to host it via youngham.net so that visitors
could enjoy the site with out all the pop-ups and banners.
Please DO NOT send me QSL cards for NU1AW/0!!! Send them to the NU1AW address
on QRZ.com. Thank you!
I have moved to Jackson, OH as of the middle of August. I have moved into a
beautiful house on 1.5 acres of land. I will update my address with the FCC as
soon as possible
SEND QSL'S TO K9MMS (DIRECT) OR QSL TO ME (K0DXC) VIA THE BUREAU, LOTW, OR
EQSL! THANK YOU!
The picture above is of me (Left, actually operating the station) and my
grandpa K9MMS (right) operating field day with the Twin Cities FM Club (W0EF).
You can also see WA2MNO in the background. It saddens me that Bob, WA2MNO
passed away as of September 2008. I had the honor of meeting Bob at field day
this year; he was a very nice person and a great ham! I miss him deeply.
On 6/23/2008 I worked N0EK, Ed, in North Dakota. That was the last state I
needed for my CW only W.A.S. (Worked All States) award! Now the only thing left
to do is get a few QSL cards from hams in various states and send in for the
award!
I am Cal, K0DXC; a 14 year old ham residing in Jackson, Ohio. I was licensed in
June of 2005 with the callsign KC0USZ and I have been a ham for about 4 years
now. My grandpa, K9MMS, is the one who inspired me to get my ticket. For
another take on my biography please visit http://k0dxc.9f.com/about.html .
I am the 2008 W0 Young Ham of the Year. Thank you everyone for all the support.
I was interviewed by 5 Eyewitness news in June of 2008. A photojournalist (John
Gross) sent me an email with a phone number to call. When I did he told me that
he would like to bring a camera crew out to my house to interview me and make a
promotional video for Amateur Radio. In addition to airing on TV a few times it
is viewable on the web at http://kstp.com/article/stories/S519423.shtml
I greatly prefer CW over any other mode and you can normally find me hanging
out around the low ends of most bands. I am a QRQ enthusiast and you will find
me going at speeds ranging from 5 to 40 words per minute. However, if you ask I
will ALWAYS slow down, don't be afraid to call me if you find me on the bands.
I am also a member of the U.S.A. HST (High Speed Telegraphy) team.
Unfortunately, I am only a General class licensee so I can not transmit in the
bottom 25 KHz of most bands, but I hope to get my extra this summer.
I am a proud member of the ARRL, FISTS, SKCC, NAQCC, S.M.A.R.T.S (WB0RMK),
ARES, MWA (Minnesota Wireless Association), YACHT (Young Amateur Contest Ham
Team), WWYC (World Wide Young Contesters), JCARC (Jackson County Amateur Radio
Club), and the Waconia Amateur Radio Club (KC0VIS). I am the ARRL - MN Youth
Assistant Section Manager.
I enjoy writing articles for ham radio publications. So far I have been
published in the FISTS Magazine "The Keynote" in issue 3, 2008. I
have an article in the Jul/Aug 2008 issue of NCJ (viewable at
http://www.arrl.org/ncj/2008/07/Darula.pdf ), I wrote an article that is in the
"Teens in CW" section of John, K3WWP's website (
http://home.alltel.net/johnshan/cw_ss_k0dxc.html ), and I have written a few
for eham on contesting ( http://www.eham.net/articles/18941 ). I have published
some of my articles on my website as well at http://k0dxc.9f.com/cgi-bin/blog .
Operating- Rigs consist of an IC-706MKIIG and a TS-430S. Antenna is a 6BTV
vertical at 25 feet, Alpha Delta DX/B 160/80/40/30 meter sloper at 35 feet,
KB6KQ 6-meter loop, and a 2 meter groundplane. I greatly enjoy contesting and
you will find me in most of them. I generally use the name "Kid" so
don't be worry if I don't send Cal. DXing is another great part of this hobby,
I have worked 95 DX entities with 90 of them on CW at last count.
Please visit my website at http://K0DXC.9f.com for a more extended version of
my biography along with some of the articles I have written.
