Greetings from the former road warrior. I go by the name "Melo" (and
yes...it describes my personality). I am married with children (a beautiful
wife and six children). I've had my ticket since March 2004. As you may have
figured out by my pic., I used to work for the Mass State Police (currently
retired from my last assignment to the Bristol County D.A.'s Detective Unit). I
retired on April of 2007, but I can still be found snooping around on the Fall
River, MA; Scituate, RI and the Sharon, MA machines (however, I can pop up
anywhere, at any time...must be a "cop thing"). I enjoy spending time
with family and friends (and chatting with old and new friends on the radio).
Now that I'm not looking for bad guys and solving "whodunits", I
sing, preach and teach for the Lord Jesus Christ full-time (webpage address:
http://hometown.aol.com/sing4thesavior or
http://www.calvarybaptistchurchonline.com/). I am the senior pastor of Calvary
Baptist Church in Dedham, MA (Hence vanity callsign K1BornAgain&Delivered -
K1BAD; formerly KB1KSH). The call-sign is also the result of my former
occupation as a Mass State Trooper of course; when I was in my cruiser, I was a
"BADboy".
At home I operate a Yaesu 7800r connected to a D-130J Super Wideband Discone
Antenna on the roof of my home office. When in my car, I operate an Icom W32A
(dual band HT) attached to a Mirage BD-35 dual amp. If I'm in my wife's car,
I'm usually on my Yaesu 2200 2m mobile. Both rigs are hooked up to Diamond Dual
Band Mag-mounts (NR72BNMO & NR73BNMO, respectively). In the family van I
operate a Radio Shack/Realistic HTX-202 attached to a 2m "brick", and
a Diamond MR77 Dual Band Mag-mount. So, no matter where I'm at (or what I'm
driving), I'm wired for sound...maybe we'll have a chance to chat some time.
This is K1BAD, the "bad"boy from Bridgewater saying, "Ciao for
now"!
