My wanting to get involved with ham is not only to speak with folks around the world, but to help the community in times of emergency. I've always been interested in severe weather, and have been in search and rescue operations (albeit many years ago) as a paramedic.

Since becoming a ham, I have become involved with the Sebastian County AR Dept. of Emergency Mgmt., our county Wx EOC, Sebastian County CERT (Citizens Emergency Response Team) as a coordinator and of course the ARES/RACES groups. In 2009 I will be the Secretary for the largest and oldest ham club in Arkansas, the Fort Smith Area Amateur Radio Club (FSAARC).

Currently, I am in the process of relocating my shack to my camper. And re-establishing my weather station, which I've run for the past 4 years. Looking forward to making a lot of HF contacts in 2009!
