Thomas is a retired police dispatcher working for the California State
University Police Department since 20-09-1973. Prior he worked for Mercy
Ambulance in Fontana, CA. While at Mercy Ambulance Thomas became a licensed
Amateur Radio Operator. His life long friend Gary Thorpe WB6VXH assisted Thomas
in becoming an Amateur Radio Operator. Thomas joined the San Bernardino County
RACES group in 1979. Afterwards Thomas became first the local Emergency
Coordinator for the Valley Section of Fontana, CA. Later he became the
Assistant Chief Radio Officer working for Brooks Rettig K6GGS. In 1980 Thomas
became the Chief Radio Officer for RACES - San Bernardino County, CA. Which is
the largest county goverment agency in the United States. Thomas remains a
member of the RACES group. He has a VHF Repeater Station K6JTH/R 147.945 MHz,
located in the San Bernardino Mountain's dedicated as a private repeater
station, which is a resource for RACES when needed for actual emergency
