Click for more detail... I enjoy working satellites from my home but have been very busy on wild land fires during the summer. Last winter I worked at McMurdo Station Antarctica (KC4USV) and helped get the station back operational. I will be back down to McMurdo Oct 2009 through Feb 2010 and will add digital modes and CW. I am going to experiment with APRS and set up a IGate and tracker on the vehicles I drive out on the ROSS Ice Sea. I am working with the National Science Foundation and hoping to get the IRLP node operational. I have permission for some school contacts with Echo Link and will do a few scheduled contacts. Had a great time working with Rod (VE6IGG) who is a mechanic on Twin Ottor Aircraft that support remote science outposts on the Antarctic Continent. Look forward to seeing you next season Rod.
