I enjoy working HF mobile, usually the morning 40 meter nets, and DX on 17 and
20 meters with my Yaesu Ft-100... I keep in touch with friends on Echolink as
well. Now that 6 meters is picking up, I'll be found there too...
An Icom IC-706KMII takes care of the fixed base chores.
A Hustler 4-BVT on the back of the house and a home brew 6 meter squalo on the
front porch handles emissions.
I've enjoyed working some of the Amateur satellites, especially MIR, just
before it was allowed to return to Earth, as well as the International Space
Station when Col. Susan Helms was aboard.
I also fly R/C model airplanes, shoot friendly competition with .22 rifle and
pistol, and shoot digital photos as well, as exampled by my homemade QSL card.
It shows the highest point in Arizona, The San Fransisco Peaks at 11,800', in
the background, while the Verde Valley is in the foreground. Birdwatching also
gives great opportunities for photos.
A well equipped PC lets me compose and edit photo and video projects that
occupy the rest of my time.
Living in the beautiful Verde River Valley has renewed and deepened my interest
in outdoors activities.
