Click for more detail... I first became interested in Ham radio as a teen in my home state of Rhode Island after building a crystal set. Through a friend of mine I got to know several hams and they helped me get my first license WN1DFD. I enjoyed working cw with a 15 watt home made transmitter and an old radio which had shortwave capability. I added a BFO and was in business. After highschool I was inactive for some years until while I lived in Minesota. I passed the novice test again and got on the air again with an old rig I was able to purchase. In the 80s I finally upgraded to general and was active from San Antonio, Texas. Recently I began to hear alot about QRP and desided that I would like like to try my hand at it. I am now using an ICOM 703 into a fan dipole. I am on 40, 30, 20, 10, 6, and 2 meters and hope to be able to get my worked all states QRP.
