A lot has changed since the last time I updated this page. I am now going on 4
years as a Ham Radio Opperator and still enjoy every minute of it.
About 2 years ago I got involved with the Amateur Radio Emergency Service
(ARES). I never imagined when I first got my ticket that I would become so
heavily involved with Emergency Communications! I am now serving as the
Assistant District Emergency Coordinator for CTARES Area 4 North. I enjoy
preparing for drills and "the Real Thing" if/when it comes along.
Sometimes it seems as if I do more radio related talking (phone, e-mail,
meetings) then I do talking on the radio but you couldn't get me out of ARES if
you tried.
Although I am a General Class operator I do most of my operating on the VHF/UHF
bands. Look for me during the VHF/UHF contests either using my call or the
local club call (K1MUJ). I operate SSB, FM, AM, CW, and Digital. I enjoy the
digital modes very much because it combinds Ham Radio with my other favorite
hobbie, computers. Look for my APRS stations on the air or on findu.com. I have
a few on the air but the main ones are KB1JDX (my WX station and fill-in DIGI)
and KB1JDX-9 (my truck).
I am curently employed at Sheldon Farm in Eastford, CT, located just up the
road from my house. I am attending college at Quinebaug Valley Community
College studying Computer Services - Tech Support.
I respond to 100% of the QSL cards I recieve, so feel free to send them. Member
