First licensed as a Technician in 1997, upgraded to Technician Plus with 5 WPM code in 1998.  I was a Technician Plus until the latest round of restructuring and my last license renewal, which led to my license class being "converted per 97.21a3".  I had to learn code to get on HF but never made it to 13 or 20 WPM before the code was axed.  I hope to upgrade to General in the near future and get some more enjoyment out of my HF setup.  In the past I have operated an ill-fated repeater and also an APRS station, but for now just operate FM and SSB voice.

My HF station consists of an Icom IC-718, LDG IT-100 tuner, and a G5RV hung in flat-top configuration at about 30 feet AGL.  On 2-meter FM, I have a Yaesu FT-2600M connected to a Cushcraft ARX-2B also at about thirty feet AGL.  Feedline is all Belden 9913 semi-flexible with Polyphasers on a grounding bar for all antennas.  Future plans for station upgrades include a tower and probably at least one HF beam and a few more verticals as time and money allows.  Mobiles in my various vehicles include a Yaesu FT-7800, Kenwood TM-261, and ADI AR-147.  I have Vertex VX-150 and VX-180 portables for VHF and UHF respectively, RadioShack (GRE) PRO-2096, PRO-96, PRO-93, and GRE PSR-500 scanners as well.

I usually scan the following frequencies: 147.535 MHz simplex, 146.88 W9RCA repeater, 146.67 K9IPL repeater, both in Indianapolis, and the 146.835 WA9RDF repeater in Greenwood.  I'm also active on 10 meter SSB in the Tech voice portion of the band (28.3-28.5) from time to time as well.
