Have been licensed since fall of 2005. First DX was 3Y0X on phone about a week
after I'd passed my General. Since that time I've been smitten by chasing DX.
Current total is 135 confirmed, 150 in the log.
Since I got my K2 in May of 06 my operating has primarily been CW. I've gotten
more comfortable with it and haven't found the need to put a mic on the rig
yet!
I primarily operate with 100 or less. Warmer months see me tinkering with QRP
gear and operating in the sun.
Station consists of K2/100 W/KAT.
I've got a Begali Simplex that I purchased at Dayton from Mr. Begali that I
really love. I don't think I'll be able to stop at just one.
I live in town, and haven't pursued getting aluminum in the air. I spend a fair
bit of time modeling and experimenting with wire antenna configurations in my
back yard. I primarily utilize a 40M vertical, an 80M L, and a 20M half-square
with various other bits of wire that come up and go down when the weather isn't
too cool.
QSL any QSL sent to me! FISTS Bureau W0 Bureau or Direct.
Many thanks to the N0MA crew for giving me an interest I didn't know I had, and
then hanging around to answer the millions of queries I seem to be able to
generate.
Special thanks to K0KK and W5FH for all those hours of CW practice. I'm really
glad you took the time to help me get up to speed.
