Click for more detail... I've been interested in radio in general since the age of 7, but it wasn't until I graduated from college that I discovered ham radio. I have done a bit of everything. Back in the early 1990's I was active with the packet radio running a BBS as WP4XQ. In 1991 I looked to the heavens and made the first 2 way amateur radio QSO contact with a space shuttle during the SAREX experiment with STS 35/Sarex 1 on Space Shuttle Columbia with WA4SIR. See QSL card here at http://kp4tr.org/sts35_qslcards.html That sparked my interest to work the Oscar satellites with the help of Tony Tricoche (KP4EKG-sk) and frequented AO-13, where I gave alot of JA's and DL's their first KP4 satellite DX contact. Then Pacsats were next things, where UO-22 and KO-23 were my favorites. At one point I had a fully automated pacsat satellite station uploading/downloading packed BBS messages. Later did some ATV with KP4IA, then did some AMPRNET/TCPIP over AX25 networking on the KP4ES network at Inter-American University. I moved to Florida in 1998 where I have had a bit of a hiatus while I raised 3 kids. I'm back on the air with my new Cushcraft X7 triband, where I now occasionally do some SSTV and PSK31. See http://kp4tr.org/sstv.html Lately I have been very active again now that I have an IRLP (VoIP) system at home financed by KP4WK and myself. It is IRLP node 4085 and operates on 147.525Mhz (PL71.9)in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. I usually connect to the AIRA reflector 9201. See http://kp4tr.org. I am a member of ARRL and PRARL (Puerto Rico Amateur Radio League) based in Puerto Rico. I help with the development and maintenance of the Spanish language FCC practice question pool application translated by Victor Madera (KP4PQ) and hosted http://kp4tr.org/examenes 73!
