I started out with the Foundation call M3JRQ and also held 2E0JRQ before M0JRQ.
My daughter, Laura now has M3JRQ. (I also hold G5VZ, originally the call of
Bill Birchall who was a mentor and Elmer many years ago back in Northfleet.)
Interests are working CW and antenna experimentation on the lower HF bands and
VHF - base, mobile and portable. (Eighty metres is very noisy here!) I got a
five megs NoV in summer 2006, so there's an odd outing on 60m, and - since
March 2007 - I've also been on 30m a fair bit.
I am a keen outdoors operator - plenty of /P operations although I haven't done
so many SOTA activations since Spring 2007. A member of the G-QRP Club (number
11904) I am also a member of FISTS CW Club, 12540 and RAOTA, 2120. I'm a member
of the Pontefract radio club (www.pdars.com) and assist with Pontefract Junior
Radio Club, mostly as a training course tutor.
