Hi there, thanks for looking me up, a few details about me and my interests below. HF Usually active mostly on 20m and 40m most weekends, I'm always happy to spend time chatting, but if you only want to exchange signal reports, thats fine too. I'm using a Hustler 6BTV multiband vertical antenna, and a max power of 100w. I'm probably not the "first" station you'll pick out in a pile up, but thanks for your patience if you did pull me out from amongst the "Big Guns". If you have a look at the QRZ Map page you'll see I have quite a lot of neighbours close by, so antennas are difficult to get in the air, so I'm "low-profile" as best I can. -Yaesu FT857 -Hustler 6 BTV Multiband Vertical Antenna for HF -Maximum of 100w (no amplifiers here) D-Star Have a look at my website, it does need some updating but most of it is still relevant (Nov. 07). I am the Repeater Keeper for GB7DX, D Star repeater located in Ashford, Kent, at my home. I use an Icom IC-E2820 radio. I have one at home and also a second one in the car for mobile work. I also have an Icom IC92 D Star HT and the HM175 GPS Microphone to run DPRS. All good fun! In addition to GB7DX, I have three D Star repeaters locally I can get access to, GB7FK, GB7IC and GB7SS. -Icom IC E-2820 home based -Diamond Triband 6m/2m/70cm - Icom IC92 on 100mW as I live with the D-Star Repeater, GB7DX, at my home APRS I also run an APRS Digi and Igate, MB7UDX, which serves the local area. You can look out for either MB7UDX or when I'm mobile, M0TMX-7 on UI View, or via the internet on http://aprs.fi/m0tmx-7 -Mobile - Kenwood TM D710 Dual Band, look out for M0TMX-7 on UI View -Mobile - Icom IC-E2820 D Star, local repeaters are GB7DX, GB7FK and GB7IC -AVMap GPS Unit -Auxillary Battery Split Charge system in the car, all the mobile equipment is powered independently, I use West Mountain Radio power distribution boards and all my kit uses Anderson PowerPoles. Other Stuff I also hold the callsign EI6GAB which I use on my frequent visits to Ireland. Usually best to QSL via the Bureau, when operating HF at home I control the radio using Ham Radio Deluxe, and it automatically sends out an eQSL card, so I'll also confirm contacts in eQSL. However I'll also send a paper card as eQSL is not suitable for many awards. So, I prefer the Bureau and a proper card, however if you want to QSL direct I will respond direct, don't worry about cost, as long as I'm not inundated with Direct QSL's, its no problem. SWL reports also very welcome, and I will send a card by return. Please don't send me a card for a D-Star contact, its not DX and I don't see the point. I've had a few in the past, but its pointless as you are only working your local repeater. Click this link for local WX in Ashford, courtesy of M0ZAA
Thanks for the contact, and hope we speak again sometime, always happy to chat or just swap signal reports. 73, Declan. WAB Square: TR03 England Book Number: 16315 Last modified: Fri Jun 5 00:21:14 2009 Does this page contain inappropriate content? If so, Report this page... |
