Born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Attended Brother Martin High School,
University of New Orleans (for a brief period), and Delgado College. I had
twenty fun-filled, action-packed years in the Air Force (San Antonio, Denver,
Lakenheath, Altus, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Aviano, and Omaha) and I stayed in
the Omaha area — Bellevue actually. Post military I worked for a couple of
years as a Systems Engineer at First National Bank of Omaha. I did about four
and a half years as an infrastructure consultant for Microsoft. I now work as
Technical Account Manager at Microsoft in the Omaha area.
I married my high school sweetheart, Sue Reardon. Together we have raised two
wonderful children, Kelly and Stephen. 2003 was the year of college graduations
— myself in January, Stephen in May, and Kelly in December. 2004 was the year
of weddings — Kelly in June and Stephen in October. Aside from the disruption
to family caused by Hurrican Katrina, 2005 was pretty quiet. 2006 brought the
announcement that grandchildren were on the way in 2007.
I'm now back in school, working on my Master's in Management Information
Systems with a concentation in Information Assurance at the University of
Nebraska at Omaha. I love talking about information security.
I was incredibly frustrated by the events of Hurricane Katrina, specifically
about not being able to contact relatives that were working in hospitals in New
Orleans after the flooding. Well I guess that some good has come out of that.
It has spurred me on to become active in the local HAM community. I don’t know
exactly how it will all play out, but I am getting involved and things are
moving forward. I have completed the ARECC Level I - III courses. I manage the
web site for the local ARC (www.bellevuearc.org) and am helping as an ARRL
registered instructor and a VE. I am also active in the local ARES and RACES
organizations and spend a lot of weekends working events.
Continuously licensed since 1983, 2006 saw me get on HF for the first time.
God is good! All the time!
