"WELCOME TO THE SULTANATE OF BRUNEI"

I am a retired army officer graduated from the Officer Cadet School Portsea in Australia, Signal Wing of the School of Infantry, the Staff College in Camberley, UK, and the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute. I have visits to the US Army Training Institute in Hawaii and South Korea.

I started being liscenced as 'VS5SS' on 28 Aug 1974. Previous call signs are G4/VS5SS, VK3EJD and VS5SS/VE7. I enjoyed operating in low power using the old 'Racal HF' manpack radios with NVIS diapole and loop antennas especially in CW mode in the equatorial jungle of Brunei during my work in the army.

Currently I am active on all HF and WARC bands mainly in CW on most days between 08:00 z to 18:00 z. Also very active on 3.5 MHz and top band most evenings depending on propagation. I currently run the 'Tungku Lodge' for visiting ham and their xyl who wish to visit and operate from Brunei.
