First licenced in 1960 as VK5ZAI, I became interested in satellite
communications in 1965 with OSCAR III.
In the 90's I became involved with the Mir Space Station handling school
contacts and later family linkups for Andy Thomas during his 5 month flight on
Mir in 1998. Later in 2000 I was invited to join the ARISS team (Amateur Radio
on International Space Station) as a Telebridge Operator and School Mentor.
In 2001 I was invited by NASA to the launch of STS-102 from Cape Kennedy and to
meet some of the astronauts. Photos of the trip and ARISS stations can be
viewed on my web site.
I am currently the ARISS co-ordinator for Australia
