First Licensed in 1966 as G3VUI
Operated in mini DXpeditions to Andorra 1972 (C31FA) and Aland Island 1973
(OH0/G3VUI)
First licensed as VP8NO December 1973 and operated from the British Antarctic
Survey (BAS) base "T", Adelaide Island, south-western Antarctic
Peninsular early 1974 to late 1975.
Resident in Port Stanley since May 1977.
Mainly interested in HF DXing, CW and SSB, with some casual contesting.
Operated via Oscar 10 in the early days. Went QRT in 1989 but returned in 2000
after building an Elecraft K2. Now retired with more time to play!
Current line-up: K2/100W + 6 metre transverter, K3/100, Acom 1000, OB9-5 and
OB5-6 on a 12 metre Versatower, vertical for 30 & 40 metres.
QSL direct, via the bureau (slow) and now LoTW (uploaded every 20-30 QSOs).
