This is the official call sign for the National Weather Service office in Valley, Nebraska. Staffed by volunteer Ham operators during times of severe weather, this station "Funnels" weather reports from trained weather observers in the field to NWS forecasters.

The National Weather Service provides weather, hydrologic, and climate forecasts and warnings for the United States, its territories, adjacent waters and ocean areas, for the protection of life and property and the enhancement of the national economy.
