Hi... The picture is me operating on a fishing pier in Seabrook NH. The radio
is a Sierra (kit) running 2 watts on CW and uses
plug in modules to change bands. The antenna is a 20' fiberglass fishpole with
a 17' (20m) wire hanging down with a few radials. The tuner is a Emtech
Z-match. Contacts come easily with this set-up at this location.
Last summer, after calling CQ an Italian station answered and we had a great
QSO. I was using a RockMite 20m running one half watt.
I Also like using an Elecraft K1 running five watts portable. Great rig.
Also enjoy finding and fixing up old radios.
Fixed a Heath AT-1 transmitter, and just found a Heath AC-1 antenna coupler to
go with it.
It feels good to find, fix, and use old radios. If you have one, please let me
know.
Thanks for visiting.
