-First licensed in 1952 as WN9QQN, Chicago suburban area. Passed General class 2 months later.

-Long Hiatius for College, getting married and going into the Navy Flight program.  Then back to civilian life, joined Motorola and later reactivated my hamming in 1963,- as W9QQN earned DXCC in 1964.  A move to the UK with Motorola and reciprocal licensing created another DXCC opportunity - operating as G5ABA, -Achieved DXCC in 1966.

Returning home (Illinois) formed the Northern Illinois DX Association (NIDXA) in 1967 with the support of W9BZW (SK), and Bob W9ARV (nw SK); Along with many others.

-Achieved DX Honor Roll in 1969 -5BDXCC #310 -1972 -Extra Class call W9QN assigned, secondary call.

Moved with Motorola to Florida in 1971- new call WB4YJE (interim) then applied for W4QQN 1972; -Vanity call-1997- W4QN (went low "Q")- DX and Contesting are my major interests but still short one (P5) for #1 Honor Roll. Working now on CW honor roll and 8 or 9 band DXCC.  LOTW is a great service - wish more would use it.

-Retired from Motorola 1996 -Acquired Cubex Antenna Co 1997; Moved it to Davie, Florida in 1997 and again to Jupiter, FL in late 1998.  Also relocated my residence to Jupiter. Cubex was great fun, lot of new designs produced, and many customer and supplier friendships established.  Sold Cubex 2006, and it has been acquired by Tennadyne Antennas, located in Aldo, MI,  Give Roger a call for Quads.

-Now fully retired again and enjoying it - this years CQ Marathon score as of this date is 265 entities, and 40 zones for a score of 305.  Who needs Sun Spots?
