Greetings from western Kentucky!
I received my first ticket in 2002, upgraded to General in 2004 and Extra in
2005. I served as the Kentucky ARES District 3 Emergency Coordinator in 2004
and 2005 until moving to Florida for a few months. My wife of 38 years, Janie,
and I came back to Kentucky in 2006 where I work as a real estate broker and
auctioneer. I currently serve as the secretary for the Owensboro Amateur Radio
Club, and I am a ARRL VE.
My station equipment consists of a Kenwood TS-2000 and a MFJ-969 tuner fed by a
Windom wire antenna at 30 feet. It's nothing elaborate, but it works pretty
well. My preferred mode is SSB on 10, 17, 20 and 40 meters, and I will be
trying my luck with 6m SSB/FM as soon as I can get my 6m homemade j-pole
mounted.
73, Jim
