Biography Info:

· I have been a Ham about 11 years and hold an extra class license. · Electronics have been a love from my youth. I can’t say I have been very good at it but the love is there. I have been in the computer industry since 1977 and have been in many areas of the business. · Basic stamps have been an enjoyable aspect of microprocessors that captured my interest. This came as a result of my interest in our High altitude balloons projects. · All aspects of ham radio are of interest, including HF, VHF, UHF, Packet, APRS, and other digital modes. · The wireless Internet business is my current employment, installing and selling high-speed wireless Internet for a local ISP. · I have been in a leadership position for our local club (The Voice of Idaho ARC.) for the last 6 years, including president twice and immediate past president three times :) · Recently I have become a VE Team Liaison and we provide a testing session the first Saturday of the month here in Boise. · I believe I will continue as the Chief RACES officer for the State of Idaho, hoping I will have enough time to do what is needed there. · I was the chairman for the committee that was responsible for the Idaho PRB-1 like law to help keep excessive regulation away from ham towers and antenna’s. · Organized local ham involvement in “Santa’s Workshop” HF contact from the North Pole, for kids with cancer and hospitalized youth. We are planning to extend this opportunity to hams worldwide. · Created a local “Over The Hill Commute Group” morning net that meets each weekday morning on a local repeater. It has been running about 7 years now. · Appointed the Idaho Section Manager. I am using a IC-756ProII with a 4 element SteppIR or a G5RV on a 60 foot tower for HF work. I run a Paclink bridge with a call of W7DVR and my packet address is w7dvr.wv7i.id.us.noam. GRMS call = WQDT939
