Biography Info:

Hello, my name is Mike Accardi and was born in New York, N.Y. on 8/16/1975. I grew up in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey and currently live in Henderson, Nevada. I married Christine Jacobs from Davis, California on 9/1/2001.

I've always had an interest in HAM radio. When I was about 10 years old, I can remember house shopping with my parents and coming across a house with a ham shack in the basement. I was mystified! At the time I had no idea what it was and the closest thing to the cool looking radio I saw was a Citizens Band radio. I played on the CB all through high school. After high school I lost interest in radio.

Being a network engineer specializing in Voice over IP phone systems, I was once again intrigued by HAM radio. This time it was not the cool looking radio, but instead IRLP and Echolink. I passed the Technician Class test on September 8,2007 and appeared in the FCC's ULS database on 9/14/2007. The call sign assigned to me was KE7OTI. After receiving my ticket I applied for a vanity call sign, W7MFA, and was issued that call sign on 10/1/2007. I passed the General Class test on 10/18/2008.
