near 3400 feet elevation. Summer daytime temperatures average around 80F while
winter sees occasional snow and average daily temperatures of about 40F. Total
annual precipitation is between 10 and 13 inches. County: Deschutes; Grid:

Amateur operator since 1959 with two periods of activity, 1959-1961 and
1970-1971, both as K9TTE. This is my third reincarnation into amateur radio.
The previous two were near solar maximums - now learning to work Top Band and
80m. ;2) I work 160 thru 6m, mostly DX, IOTA, lighthouses and special event
stations. Modes are: CW, SSB, PSK31 and RTTY using DigiPan v2 and MMTTY v1.65.
Equipment: FT-2000, IC-7000, Alpha 8100 and Palstar AT1500DT matchbox with 4
element SteppIR and 160 Carolina Windom.
I reply to all QSL cards and I make frequent LoTW uploads. Cards received via
the bureau will be replied to via the bureau. QSL cards for W7VS are on order,
please be patient. Use my PO Box for all mailings.
Big Problem (W7TTE): In early May 2007 I experienced a hard drive failure that
resulted in the loss of my log files, the backup files and my BV database. I
may be working you again because I cannot reconstruct our QSO from any QSL card
or paper note I have. The biggest problems are from Nov 2006 thru March 2007.
If you logged QSO(s) with me in that time frame, I would appreciate your
sending me a copy via email. It will help me reconstruct many important
contacts I have lost. So far over 3500 QSOs have been recovered and only 50-100
remain unresolved. A special "Thank You" to all those who have given
their time to search their logs.
73s and may the propagation gods be with you, Walt.
