I was first licensed in the early 60s as WN2OUK at age 12. Grew up in Long
Beach, LI, NY , where I was active with the local radio club and ARES/RACES
group. I hold an Extra Class license and FCC First Class Radiotelephone license
(now called a GROL).
My activities with the ARRL Field Organization in the Southern Florida Section
include serving as the Assistant Section Manager, Affiliated Club Coordinator
and District Emergency Coordinator. Previously, I was the Section Technical
Coordinator and Section Emergency Coordinator and served on the ARRL National
Emergency Response Planning Committee. I am also an Assistant Director in the
Southeastern Division and a former EC and RO for Lee and Palm Beach counties
and am certified in all three levels of ARRL ARECC.
I am a life member of the ARRL, QCWA and AWA and a Senior Grade member of the
Radio Club of America and the ARRL A-1 Operator Club. Past President of the
Fort Myers and West Palm Beach ARC and current member of the Palms West ARC,
North Florida ARS, Wiregrass ARC and life member of the West Palm Beach ARC. I
am the Secretary Treasurer of our local Palm Beach Chapter of QCWA and an ARRL
CE-VE.
Retired after 25 years as the communications supervisor in South Florida for
the Florida Division of Forestry. My XYL, Myra, K3PGH and I live in Royal Palm
Beach, FL and Dothan, AL. My other interests include restoring antique ham
radios, traveling to hamfests, antique cars and radio-TV history. Myra & I also
volunteer at the old radio museum in Yesteryear Village on the South Florida
Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach.
