Became interested in the hobby at age 12 when saw WA0TBR's station just down the road. This interest eventually lead to a degree in electronics engineering a field I still pursue. Was first licensed in 1974 as WN0VHW. Upgraded from Novice to Advanced in 1984 then to Extra in 1997. Was active on HF, weak signal, satellite and working on the Superlink from 84 to 97 when an ice storm took down all of my antennas in the course of a few days. Various personal commitments (work and raising a family) kept me mostly off the air until about 2005.

My main rig is an Flex 5000 with a Command Tech HF-2500 Amp and MFJ-9982 Tuner. Main antenna is a 160m G5RV that the tuner tunes into most bands. Plans are to add a StepIR come spring of '08. Other rigs are an ICOM IC-756Pro3, a Kenwood TS-2000X used on 6m - 70cm (so far...), the Heathkit SB-303/401 twins I built in high school and an SB-310 I picked up on eBay.

Interests include 6m operation (its fun to be the only station on in EN07!!), APRS weather, repeater linking, PropNET (www.PropNet.org) station automation and SDR.

Current projects include bringing up Propnet nodes on 6, 10 and 30 meters, converting an DTR-2000 to 6m with a GS-35B tube, decoding Davis weather station protocols, getting APRS weather stations on the air and getting a DX-100 restored. Maybe someday I will have time to operate...
