Current HF station: Icom IC756 Pro III xcvr, Yaesu FL2100B amp (600W DC output max), Palstar AT1500CV KW xmatch, MFJ 941D. PSK31 (and backup) rig is Icom IC701 (bought in 1978). Completed building (3/6/07) the Elecraft K1. The K1 is powered 100% by four Siemens 55-watt solar panels and six Trojan 220 amp-hr 6-volt batteries permanently installed in three (series) pairs that are then in parallel. The portable QRP station uses the K1 with a homebrew quick setup 33 ft vertical with four 36 ft radials, a 7AH AGM battery and a 13 watt Topray briefcase folding pair of solar panels. Antennas: 20-15-10 Cushcraft A3S tribander at 40 feet; 133ft inverted-L at 30 feet (160 - 10 mtrs); 260 ft long Zepp for 160 meters and up fed through MFJ 941D xmatch using 300 ohm twinlead; homebrew 40-meter quarter-wave vertical ground mounted with 40 radials. Homebrew 1/2 wave vertical on 6 meters. Other callsigns KG4EY (GTMO 1971-72), special events: WW2GM, and WC2MC.
