Biography Info:

Hello all! My name is Terry and I have been interested in Amateur Radio since around 1978, when my good friend Dick Davis-W9KK(sk) first exposed me to this hobby. I received my Novice license in 1981, while attending Vincennes University studying electronics. The local amateur radio club was sponsoring a class and testing session which helped me get over the morse code hurdle.

I really wasn't to involved with the hobby even though I got my license until 2002 when I upgraded my license to General and then Extra about 3 months later. At that time I took a management role as an automation team leader for a pharmaceutical company and found myself getting further and further from the actual work that I first fell in love with, electronics and electrical engineering. So amateur radio gave me that chance to get back to dabbling with what I really enjoyed doing. After my upgrade, another amateur (Charlie Nydegger-WA9HCU) who attended the church I grew up in helped elmer me back into the hobby.

I have enjoyed experimenting with a great number of things in this great hobby, but most of all I have enjoyed involving my two sons (Evan-15 and Eric-10). My youngest even took the test the first time and wasn't successful but I was very proud of a then 9 year old giving it a try. So far I have experimented with SSB, PSK31, and CW which the later has probably gotten my biggest thrill as I am working to increase my code speed.

My involvement includes working as a VE in our local club which host testing sessions every 3 months. Participating as an assistant county emergency coordinator, which keeps me involved in several local emergency related activities such as simulated emergency nets and skywarn net operations. Additionally, I serve as our local club secretary/treasure as well as the club newletter editor and webmaster. You can find our website at www.qsl.net/wm9m/ccarc.htm. During weekends and a few weekdays (when work doesn't get in the way, HI HI) you will find me checking into the Indiana Traffic Net(ITN) and occasionally to the Indiana CW Traffic Net(QIN). Probably the last item is that I enjoy participating in a few contests from time to time.

If you find me working the airwaves, please give me a shout as I always enjoying talking.

Member: ARRL, Clinton County Amateur Radio Club of Indiana, Eli Lilly & Company Amateur Radio Club, Clinton County ARES, and the Society of Midwest Contestors.
