---------------------------------------------------------------------
** Please don't use between 10pm-7am. Not enough control operators on hand if
you knowhutimean. **
Much obliged.
**You will need to encode a 146.2Hz CTCSS to access.
-This repeater is located in one of the lowest elevations in Parker. Height
Below Average Terrain: 170'. Yes, that is 170' BELOW average terrain.
-Became operational 30 Sept, 2003 serving the greater Parker area.
-The repeater is open to the public and has pretty good mobile/hand held
service around the SE Aurora, and Northern Douglas County areas. The machine
also serves as an IRLP Node, and was installed for both locals and visitors to
use.
-The repeater is made up of an Astron RS-50M power supply, EMR Corporation
duplexers, coupled to the station antenna - an 18' Diamond 2m/70cm with the
base mounted at roof level. 7/8" Andrew Heliax is the feedline of choice.
The radio itself is a $5 http://hamvention.org/ special - a 75W, 34+ year old
Motorola Micor modified for repeater operation (seperate ports for TX/RX).
Power output has been scaled back to about 37 Watts for RF safety and
compatibility with the the neighborhood. The IRLP node was originally on
simplex from March 2003, then changed over to the repeater September 30th,
2003. Special thanks to Curtis, W8VFR for his time, enthusiasm and repeater
building expertise with this project. Of course, I'm thankful for his lifelong
(literally) friendship.
