WOW! I have been licensed for nearly 30 years now. Where did the time go?! I
really miss working newly licensed novices and some of my most enjoyable times
have been working other weak signal VHF and UHF stations. Look for me on
144.200 and 50.125 and let's trade grid square info. I need all I can get cause
I am that "weak signal" they talk about.
Since I am not currently employed I have plenty of time to play and dream of
rebuilding the modest station of days gone. Starting over, plans (and dreams)
are in motion for a larger presence on vhf.
Presently the antenna farm contains but a 6BTV and a small 2 meter yagi hooked
to the Kenwood TS-570 and Kenwood TS-711A respectively but (hopefully) by
Christmas, a tower, tribander, 6 meter and much much larger two meter yagis
will be in place. A two meter amplifier is also planned for the inventory.
Meanwhile, I’ll just rest and listen with the small stuff trying to keep my
attack of the 6 and 2 meter bands in check and give everyone else a chance to
capture that elusive VUCC.
I grind my own coffee beans here so if you are in the neighborhood give me a
growl, stop by, I'll make us a fresh cup o hot-n-black and we'll trade a couple
lies.
