I'm Gary, a radio ham for 30 years since I was 17, previously licensed as G4iFB. I emigrated to ZL in 2005 in order to be DX.

I operate CW almost exclusively, apart from the odd SSB contest or DX hunt. My main interests are HF CW DXing and HF CW contesting.

My station consists of Elecraft K3 and K2 radios, an old Amp Supply Co linear amplifier, a 3 ele tribander and various wire antennas in the trees.  My QTH in Hawke's Bay is a lovely hilltop site with a clear takeoff all round: there are pictures on my website G4iFB.com

I'm also the webmaster for ZL7T.com and ZM2M.com and a present or past member of The East Coast Contesters (ZM2M), Quartz Hill Contest Club (ZL6QH), M6T/G0KPW, G0FBB, GW8GT and the Voodudes.

I reply promptly to bureau and direct QSLs received. If you want a direct QSL reply, please send an IRC or US$2 and an addressed return envelope. Provided you are happy to wait for a bureau card from me, either ask me on air, send me your card via the ZL bureau or email me with the QSO details. I upload my log to LoTW frequently (every few days) so that's a quick and free option, though I still like to received QSL cards too.
