I was, for a long time, a keen SWL. My ham radio operating started in the
early 1960's as ZC4HK, MP4BBA and 9H1BA whilst in the RAF. G2BKZ was re-issued
to me in 1983 from a (now SK) friend, Bernard, who held the call in the late
1930's to 1979. I am a keen HF operator and I can be found anywhere from 160 to
6 meters. My working conditions; TS440s, IC706 Mk1, normally 100 watts output.
But also have a Collins 30L1 linear, 300 watts output using two 572B valves. My
HF aerial is a British built "Chelcom" 2-element, 4 band quad on a
40ft Strumech tower. The elements are relay switched via voltages fed up the
co-ax from the shack. For the LF bands I use a "Dogs Leg" loop aerial
about 200ft long fed via twin loudspeaker wire via MFJ Autotuner.
I am also licenced as 9H1KZ.
Please, if you need a card "direct", would you add an IRC or
equivalent?
I look forward to meeting you on the air!
