ADes the new updated mod file for the ADI AR-147.
If you have the old version, follow this one:
1. Remove the bottom cover by removing the four screws.
2. You will see 2 (two) red jumpers. One located on the board, and one that
looks like it comes off the LCD.
3. Cut both of these jumpers, and move them so they will not touch again.
4. Replace the bottom cover and the four screws.
5. When powering on the unit after making the mod, you MUST reset both the
CPU and the VFO. (Look in the instruction manual for learning how to do
this.)
Your unit will now successfully Transmit and Receive from 130.0000 MHz to
179.9950 MHz. (Please note that the unit will NOT transmit in the Aircraft
Receive Band Mode.)

5. When powering on the unit for the first time after the mod is done, you

Subject: Radio MOds
There is a mod listed in your site for the ADI 147+ for extended RX-TX.
Ive performed the mod exactly how the intructions say to do. The mod
expanded the receive only, not the transmit, reqardless of what mode
the radio was in. Just letting you know so hopefully no one else will
waste there time performing this mod.
Gentlemen:
Under the radio mod for the ADI AR-147+ There is a reply saying
that the mods were tried without success and warning people not to waste
their time with the one listed.
I just did this mod on a recent manufacture of the ADI AR-147+ with the
expected (successful) results. NOTE! It is necessary to do BOTH resets!
One is done by holding down the VFO button while turning the power on,
and the other is done by holding down the MR button while turning power
on. TX was correctly unlocked!
