Subject: Mods for the Ranger RCI-2970 10 meter radio.

Frequency Coverage Modification:

1. Remove the top cover to get to the PC board with the jumper pins.
   They will be on a PC board immediately behind the front panel.

2. Locate the jumper pins, they are on the left side if you are looking
   at the front of the radio. There are an upper and a lower set of two 
   pins. There will be a jumper on the lower set of pins (factory 
   setting).

3. Move the jumper from the lower set of pins to the upper set of pins
   to expand coverage to 26 MHz - 30 MHz. The radio will read out in 
   both MHz and CB channels. A couple of the function keys will act 
   slightly different than described in the manual. You'll figure it out.

4. If you remove the jumper entirely, frequency coverage changes to 
   27.965 MHz - 27.405 MHz with CB channel and MHz readout. Some of the 
   function keys will act different than described in the manual. You'll
   figure it out.

5. To return the radio to factory settings, move the jumper from the 
   upper set of pins to the lower set of pins.
