News from PLC in Portugal (Anacom and PT visit PLC locals)

Hello friends.
A new comtrend/corinex modems are used in MEO IPTV services by Portugal Telecom PT (Like british telecom) and this news modems have a few notchs filter used in ham bands and CB band and they work very well.
Anacom (like OFCOM)and PT last week a technical engennering team comes to my village to turn on the notch filter in some worst PLC cases or change the old comtrend and corinex

SV9AQH, "Babis" is a SK .....

I sadly inform the Ham radio community, that
SV9AQH, "Babis" Tsimpogiannis, has passed away today 3.15.2010.
Babis was a "real" ham friend and was 56 years old.... He was a member of the Radio Amateur Society of Crete island of Greece and had many friends here in Greece and Worldwide.....
We (his friends) will always remember our good friend "Babino" for the rest of our life...

WinRadio is about to introduce a new, affordable SDR receiver in the form of the Winradio WR-G31DDC "Excalibur".
According to WinRadio:
The WR-G31DDC receiver will be available in approx February/March next year.

Derek Hilleard G4CQM has designed a monster size yagi for the 6M (50MHz) band and is looking for a serious volunteer who would be prepared to construct, test and use this antenna. It is the 6M-NEXTGEN11 and has a 20M long boom.
