I live in North Florida and have had a lifelong interest in Amateur Radio. I passed both my Technician and General License Exams at the same ARRL/VEC Exam Session in Callahan, FL which was generously sponsored by W4NAS, Nassau County Amateur Radio Society (NCARS). I'm currently studying to upgrade to the Extra License and hope to earn it later this year.
I'm a member of Clay County ARES, the Orange Park Amateur Radio Club, and I'm also an ARRL VE.
My shack consists of a Yaesu FT-950 (with a DVS-6 digital voice recorder, and IF-2000 interface board installed), a Yaesu MD-1 desk microphone (modified to fully control the FT-950), a LP-PAN 2 Panadapter (using the NaP3 SDR Software), and a Yaesu SP-2000 speaker connected to a "QSO-KING" 160-6 meters 1.5 KW 117' end-fed antenna. My mobile rig is a Icom IC-2820H (UT-123 D-Star/GPS module installed), connected to a Larsen NMO 2/70 Black antenna. Finally, I have a Icom ID-51A D-Star HT, and a 2M DVAP connected to a Raspberry Pi B+ running the 16 February 2015 Maryland D-STAR image and a Motorola XTS3000 Model III VHF HT.
