Thank you W5NL FOR FIRST HF QSO - 7/01/ 2010
I passed my Tech licence in 1991, and my GENERAL licence on June 27TH 2010, at the independant radio club field day, on Table Mountain.
I am studying for my Extra ticket.
I have up an ALPHA DELTA DX-LB PLUS DIPOLE, running East- West, and a collection of HF, VHF, UHF verticals, and discones, and I am just starting to set up several low band full size, full wave loops for 160 meter, and 80 and 40 meters, on the back half of my desert, San Gabriel mtns, 20 acres.
I am active in APRS, PACKET, IRLP, D-STAR, and SAT. I am looking forward to getting back into ATV work.
My APRS wide area Fill-In DIGI covering the south western Mojave desert, at 5000 foot level, is temp off the air
I am working a little VHF-UHF SSB and having fun on 6 Meter SSB, when conditions and time Permit.
I have a FT-897D, Icom 880H, icom ID-31A, ICOM ID-51APLUS2, FT-2DR, a kenwood D-700A, Yaesu 5100, in the shack, and on the air, and yaesu ft- 51R VX-3, vx-8dr, SEVERAL WOUXONS, and old commercial vhf / uhf rigs and I'm having a blast.
I am working on getting all my antennas back up, and out of storage, and more radio's back on the air, including my M2 28 element 440 yagi, my 18 element 900 mhz loop yagi, and my M2 22 element 1.2 ghz yagi, moved to a new heavy duty fiberglass mast.
My current passion is D-Star, using my 2 Meter, and 440 DVAPs, and my DV- Dongle, and I am really enjoying the new additions, of my Icom ID-31A D-Star hand held, and my Mobile ID-880h D-Star mobile radios, and playing with commercial long haul 2.4 and 5.8 ghz, Ubiquiti, wifi radios.
I am also very active in the MAKER Movement, in particular, working with Arduino Micro Processors, sensors, and a plethora of arduino shields. I am into experimenting with very small format, and foot-print Linux computers, in particular, the very cool RASPBERRY PI.
I have my dvap 440 up and running on Raspberry PI miniature linux computer.
I just got into Ubiquiti MIMO Air Cam equipment and set up half a dozen of these fantastic wireless cameras, on my 20 acres.
I hope to have them available for remote viewing soon.
I highly recomend those of you who are Experimenters, and Tech curious hams to check out these following fantastic sites.
