Qrm is killing shortwave radio now-adays!

So I decided to instal the transceiver on my steel boat, far away from interference sources like Power Line Communication (PLC), cheap brandless China dimmers, Panasonic plasma tv sets, unshielded solar inverters and many other man made noise distributers in my area.

Just 5 km away I own a little island in a lake where I operate my (boat)-mobile station in summertime and can swim in very clear clean and cool water....

My /M station consists of an Icom IC-7300 and external automatic antenna tuner also from Icom, the IC-AH4. The antenna is just cheap washingline about 12 meters long which is end feeded, and there it is. The maximum average power output is about 100 watt pep but having no qrm att all many stations can be worked even with 100 watts simply because I can hear them.

I sometimes use a small silent 1 Kw four stroke powergenerator for charging the 3  x 165 Amp. accumulators in the vessel.

Also a mobile antenna, made by Hustler USA, is mounted. This antenna works very well for grounding is no big issue on a steel boat ofcourse.
