WAB Book No.21955

Call sign from July 2017 is M0VCB

-- ----- ...- -.-. -...

Hello and welcome to my QRZ.com page

I can now enjoy the privileges of the UK Full License. My previous Intermediate callsign was 2E0PIT which I took in June 2016,and my Foundation License was M6FVW which I got in October 2015. It has taken me just less than two years to get there - I have to say, it was a steep learning curve for me! I am a member of the Scarborough Amateur Radio Society who helped me pass all my exams.

I am married with a very understanding wife and two children who let me play radio but think I'm a bit strange. They often ask me why I don't simply pick up a phone and call!

My QTH is in the north of England on the east coast of the county of North Yorkshire. I live in the small village of Staintondale in the Yorkshire Moors National Park. Living there places restrictions on antennas. My QTH is approximately 650 feet (200 metres) above sea level with a good take off to the east.

I enjoy HF DX and obtained my ARRL DX Century Club for 100 DXCCs with only 50 watts. With a new linear amp and some CW, I hope to get some more.

I also enjoy a good rag chew

My current rig for HF is a Yaesu FTDX 1200 and my main antenna is a 6 band Hexbeam for 20m - 6m on a pump up mast. I have a trap dipole for 40m/80m which gets good reports.

I like to collect QSL cards and I will always exchange a QSL card if it is sent to me direct - guaranteed.

I will listen, and listen, and then listen again before calling.
I will only call if I can copy the DX station properly.
I will not trust the DX cluster and will be sure of the DX station's call sign before calling.
I will not interfere with the DX station nor anyone calling and will never tune up on the DX frequency or in the QSX slot.
I will wait for the DX station to end a contact before I call.
I will always send my full call sign.
I will call and then listen for a reasonable interval. I will not call continuously.
I will not transmit when the DX operator calls another call sign, not mine.
I will not transmit when the DX operator queries a call sign not like mine.
I will not transmit when the DX station requests geographic areas other than mine.
When the DX operator calls me, I will not repeat my call sign unless I think he has copied it incorrectly.
I will be thankful if and when I do make a contact.
I will respect my fellow hams and conduct myself so as to earn their respect.
