I have had an interest in radio since the 1970's. Listening to SW on an old valve amp/receiver. I gained my Ham licence in 2003 and have mainly worked VHF. This year of 2013 I discovered the joys of using HF.

My HF radio is the Kenwood TS-850S, I have this hooked up to an Imax 2000, 5/8 vertical antenna. My main microphone is a Heil ICM which I converted to work with the 850S, this has given me very good on air results. Mobile I use a Cobra 200 for 10 Mtrs and an Intek HR-200S for 2 Mtrs.

My other radios here in the shack, are a Yaesu FT-902DM HF rig with a 2mtr Transverter fitted, and an FT-225RD 2 Mtr multimode.

Awaiting some attention, I have a couple of Mk 1 FT-290 2 Mtr portables an FT-707 HF rig a couple of BC342N WW2 recievers, allthough 1 is now working, (see picture below) and RCA RA-88 receiver.

"Honeybee" the Ragdoll pussy cat, having a QRL moment.

I have a passion for older radios, my favourite is a WW2 BC-342N receiver which I have been restoring over many years, as and when I have located the needed parts, this radio is now working and feeds from a long wire.

My interests away from radio, are my vintage lorry (semi truck) a British built Scammell Amazon 100 ton tractor. This I have been restoring for around 8 years. I also have 2 Toyota 4x4 Hilux (Tacoma) pickup trucks, these I have custom built myself, my XYL, M3VEB has a Purple truck to drive around in, my pickup is still unfinished, I don't seem to find the time to do it nowadays. Best 73 to one and all.

My Scammell Amazon lorry, it has a 13 litre Rolls Royce diesel engine. It was built to carry 132 ton.

Gladstone the Gorilla, in our Toyota truck

This is Gladstone the Gorilla. Made for the Break childrens charity here in Norwich. We bid on Gladstone at the charitiy's auction.

Pictured here on my XYL's (M3VEB) Toyota Hilux (Tacoma) pick-up truck. We built this ourselves 15 years ago from a

complete wreck. It now has a Rover V8 engine with auto transmission.

My poor old shack

Junk sale parts..... Not a good idea! The XYL will be as mad as a box of frogs.
