Dear Visitor, thanks for watching my site. I am temporary employed in Vietnam by my companies subsidiary in Vietnam and i work as project manager for industrial project in Quang Ngai. I am situated in Hai Phong unless i relocate to Quang Ngai province at begining of 2018.

I am licensed since 1977 as df2xg and i worked on the air for first 3 years until i paused for 35 years for study, job and family. 2 years ago i restarted with ham activities, bought new equipment for my home in Germany and work at home with doublet antenna. Enjoing the hobby is my main target and there is no must at the limited time available; at least, before i retire in few years and had returned...I have seeked contact to my local club R05 ( German DOK allocation) and must say here are many nice and dedicated hams practicing their wonderful hobby!

When i was offered the opportunity to work in Vietnem i thought at once to take my hobby with me. I purchased additional "mobile" equipment,  which consists in the main of FT991a and KENT key. My antenna is a random wire because i didnt know where i will stay under which conditions. So i had to decide for a tuner and my choice was in favor to MFJ993BRT which is dedicated for maritime mobile use and i thought thats it. Yes, thats it! My random wire is hanging down from 11th floor given some distance by a fishing rod and i must say, not bad when i can operate Europe with just 20 Watts. Tuning 10 to 40 meters with 14m wire works below SWR 2. 80 meters does not match. Well my counter poise is no ideal one.

Here is lot electromagnetic disturbances and i am surprised only receiving few stations. In the night time when the lights are switched on - i have white noise up to S9 and more. However i dont capitulate in trying my very best, keep the ham rules on the air, enjoy my exciting hobby and  - please - excuse when i do not expose as the most experienced operator, but trying to improve my cw capabilities.

I am looking forward to hearing you on the air

Best Regards & vy 73

Dirk
